The Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing surface equipment (industrial OEM mechanical equipment such as trucks, units, and related machinery) to ensure timely availability for operational demands. This role focuses on improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and supporting cost-effective service delivery within the Maintenance Base (MB).
Job Responsibility:
Perform Maintenance on Surface Equipment: Maintain and repair assigned mechanical equipment according to the maintenance program and reliability-centered maintenance strategy, following standard work procedures
Use Maintenance Systems: Adhere to the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) standards to record: Work orders and maintenance history
Parts used and labor time
Equipment movements and performance data
Ensure Compliance: Follow all Division TLM standards and competency requirements
Support Continuous Improvement: Participate in initiatives to reduce downtime and improve asset turnaround time
Contribute to projects aimed at repair and reuse of parts to lower costs
Assist in failure investigations and implement corrective actions
Improve Productivity: Work collaboratively to enhance maintenance efficiency and technician productivity
Requirements:
Strong mechanical skills and experience with industrial mechanical equipment (e.g., trucks, heavy units)
Ability to follow structured maintenance programs and document work accurately
Familiarity with digital maintenance systems (CMMS, TLM) is an asset
Commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement
