Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Shop Mechanic Foreman to lead our shop operations and keep our fleet running at peak performance. Reporting directly to the General Manager, all maintenance to company mobile equipment to ensure minimum downtime, maximize efficiency and cost effectiveness of all Company mobile equipment. In this leadership role, you’ll manage our repair facility and its team, ensuring all work is carried out safely, accurately, and in full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Success in this position requires strong initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize a busy workload. You’ll interact regularly with colleagues across the organization, so professionalism, tact, and clear communication are essential.

Job Responsibility

  • Overseeing and scheduling maintenance for all highway trucks and heavy equipment to ensure peak efficiency, reduced downtime, and improved cost effectiveness
  • Maintaining a safe and compliant repair facility, meeting all health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Provides Mechanic assistance (with own tools) to the highway truck and heavy equipment repair facilities team as required on Shop floor daily, to ensure that work is done accurately, efficiently and complies with policies, procedures and regulations as well as best working practices
  • Providing leadership through guidance, motivation, performance reviews, hiring, and—when necessary—employee terminations

Requirements

  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • 310T Truck & Coach Technician or 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification (required)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a truck/heavy equipment technician with supervisory responsibilities
  • WHMIS training is an asset
  • Advanced ability to work safely with mechanical parts and equipment
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting, analysis, and problem-solving skills
  • In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices
