Must have a minimum of four years of training, one-the-job and/or formal schooling
Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision and complete work in a timely and efficient manner
Must have good interpersonal and communication skills
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Must be able to work from a ladder
Must have and maintain a California Driver’s License and an acceptable DMV record
Must be able to take after hour calls, and job assignments as necessary
Must be able to give direction, lead and train other lower level mechanics

Job Responsibility

Work from blueprints/schematics to perform maintenance/repair or install equipment
Report (in writing) materials and replacement parts needed for jobs
prepare and maintain maintenance invoices as required
Direct/instruct subordinate employees still in training (i.e., Brood Maintenance Mechanics, Classes B and C)
Wire and install motors, switches, fuses, lighting, relays and control device
Determine proper size and specifications of plumbing pipe, fittings, valves, etc., for both water and gas
Inspect and perform preventative maintenance repairs/corrections on pumps, motors, foggers, heaters, feed systems, vaporizers, injectors, etc.
Install, connect, adjust, and calibrate (i.e., temperature, flow, pressure, etc.) pneumatic gauges, meters, etc.
Troubleshoot and repair boilers
General cleaning and/or assisting other crews if required
