Job Description

The town of Duxbury is accepting applications for a qualified, regular, full-time, benefit-eligible Mechanic, Vehicle Maintenance, Highway position starting July 1. Uses extensive knowledge and skill for repair, maintenance and modification of trucks, earth-moving equipment, and automobiles used in the various divisional work assignments.

Job Responsibility

  • Repair, maintenance and modification of trucks, earth-moving equipment, and automobiles
  • Operation of and ordinary maintenance of equipment (trucks, tractors, power mowers and other tools of the trade)
  • Instructs employees in the correct and proper usage of equipment
  • Participates in town-wide snow and ice removal operations
  • Maintains vehicle records

Requirements

  • High School or Technical School diploma or G.E.D. with three years of related work experience required
  • Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License, Hydraulics 2B, and Class B (CDL) license

Nice to have

  • Associate’s Degree in advanced automotive technology preferred
  • Specialized training in brakes, hydraulics, engine repair, and electronics preferred
