At Stegra, we’re building a new kind of steel industry – and we need skilled mechanics like you to keep our operations moving. In this role, you’ll work hands-on with maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs, making sure critical equipment always performs at its best. As a Mechanic for Cranes and Lifting Equipment in our Mill-wide Services team, you’ll play an important role in keeping our cranes, hoists, and lifting systems running safely and reliably.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance on cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment
  • Inspect, service, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electromechanical components to minimize downtime
  • Support operators and technicians by identifying improvement opportunities and implementing solutions
  • Train and guide colleagues in mechanical maintenance tasks and safety procedures
  • Ensure safety compliance through Lock Out, Tag Out (LOTO) and proper PPE use
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards to promote a safe working environment

Requirements:

  • Vocational or high school diploma in a mechanical field, with strong maintenance knowledge
  • Valid safety certifications for working at heights and handling heavy equipment
  • Significant experience in heavy industry (steel mills, manufacturing, or mining)
  • Familiarity with industry regulations, safety standards, and correct use of PPE
  • Strong safety mindset with the ability to mentor and coach colleagues
  • Physical fitness for working at heights and carrying tools
  • Good knowledge of English
  • Swedish is a plus
