Job Description:

The successful candidate will be working on both existing and major new projects helping the business to extend its network in specific geographic regions. This is a multi-skilled, varied, and exciting role. You will be reporting directly to the Head of MDU.

Job Responsibility:

  • Survey Stage - Analyse survey results in detail to ascertain issues preventing a successful MDU rollout
  • Provide feedback on surveys and identify any areas where improvements could be made
  • Ensure that final survey results are accurate, cost effective and compliant with all regulations
  • Design Stage - Work closely with internal teams to ensure that MDU designs are clearly understood
  • Validate the designs in terms of financial, technical and timeframe feasibility
  • Produce detailed installation proposals to be presented to building owners detailing the exact cabling installation for their MDU
  • Consideration of all fire regulations, CPR regulations, asbestos challenges and containment systems
  • Planning Stage - Walk through final MDU design with all relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Address any queries from stakeholders
  • Create a build plan for each MDU providing clear targets and benchmarks
  • Provide a detailed bill of materials for the whole MDU build
  • Build Stage - Work closely with all internal and external teams to ensure adherence to the final MDU design
  • Provide solutions and governance over the whole MDU build phase
  • Escalate any issues and risks to the Head of MDU
  • Provide regular updates to all internal and external stakeholders during the MDU build

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience working in an FTTH MDU environment
  • Experience with internal and external MDU cabling solutions
  • Knowledge of various internal and external containment systems
  • Proven working knowledge of firestopping systems and asbestos challenges
  • Previous experience in fibre surveying, design, planning and build activities
  • Full UK driving licence and own car
