The MCIP Manager - North America Lead is responsible for leading and executing Aptiv’s Material Cost Improvement Program (MCIP) across North America manufacturing operations. This role drives material cost reduction initiatives while ensuring supply continuity, quality, and compliance with customer and internal requirements. The MCIP NA Lead partners closely with crossfunctional teams to identify, prioritize, and implement cost optimization opportunities that deliver sustainable financial impact.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct value analysis and value engineering studies to identify opportunities for cost savings and performance enhancements
Develop and implement cost reduction strategies to optimize product costs while maintaining quality and performance standards
Manage relationships with suppliers to negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and conditions
Apply expertise in composite materials to assess their suitability for specific applications and identify opportunities for cost-effective utilization
Develop cost estimates and budgets for hardware and product engineering projects
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards related to material sourcing, manufacturing processes, and product performance
Conduct material cost benchmarking studies to compare Aptiv's material costs with industry standards and competitors
Perform risk assessments to identify potential cost-related risks and develop mitigation plans
Drive innovations and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cost competitiveness and efficiency
Utilize SAP Ariba or similar procurement software to manage supplier relationships, contracts, and purchasing processes
Apply programming skills in Python and Excel to perform advanced data analysis and modeling tasks related to cost reduction strategies
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related technical field
Strong understanding of electronic components and systems, including PCBs, semiconductors, connectors, sensors, wiring, and embedded systems
Experience working with electronics BOMs, component specifications, and lifecycle management
Proven track record leading material cost reduction initiatives within electronics or automotive environments
Advanced Excel and Python skills for data validation
