Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Matrimonial and Family Law Attorney to join their growing Matrimonial Department. We are looking for a motivated, professional attorney who is confident handling divorce, custody, child and spousal support, and related family law matters, and who is comfortable managing cases independently while working within a collaborative and supportive team environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney seeking long-term professional growth within a busy, dynamic, and dedicated practice. The position is full-time and based in New York, NY.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage matrimonial and family law cases from inception through resolution
  • Handle divorce, custody, parenting time, support, and post-judgment matters
  • Draft motions, pleadings, agreements, and other legal documents
  • Appear in court for conferences, hearings, and litigation proceedings
  • Communicate directly with clients and provide strategic legal guidance
  • Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient case management

Requirements

  • Admission to the New York Bar required
  • Minimum of four (4) years of New York matrimonial and family law experience
  • Ability to independently manage cases from start to finish
  • Strong courtroom, writing, advocacy, negotiation, and organizational skills
  • Excellent time-management skills and attention to detail
  • Professional, responsive, and client-focused
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Admission to the New Jersey Bar is a plus
  • Prior New Jersey family law experience is a plus
  • Comfortable with frequent court appearances and direct client interaction
  • Fluency in a second language is a plus
