We are seeking a sharp, adaptable Qualified Maths Teacher for a 6-week block at a highly regarded Secondary School in Bury St Edmunds. You will be responsible for maintaining the momentum of learning across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring students remain confident and prepared as they navigate their mathematical curriculum.
Job Responsibility
Immediate Curriculum Delivery: Take over existing schemes of work seamlessly, delivering high-quality lessons in Algebra, Geometry, Ratio, and Probability
GCSE Momentum: Provide targeted support for Year 11 cohorts, focusing on exam techniques and closing gaps in high-frequency topic areas to ensure no learning time is lost
Active Classroom Management: Establish immediate rapport and maintain a purposeful, high-energy learning environment from day one
Data-Driven Instruction: Use quick-fire assessments to gauge student understanding and pivot your teaching to address misconceptions in real-time
Collaborative Integration: Work closely with the Maths department to ensure a smooth handover at the start and end of your 6-week tenure
Marking & Planning: Maintain the high standards of the department by providing timely feedback that helps students refine their mathematical reasoning
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Degree-level understanding of Maths
Proven track record of delivering results at the secondary level
