You will join a small, friendly secondary school where teachers teach smaller than average classes. That environment means you can build strong relationships with students, identify gaps quickly and tailor support so learners make rapid progress. The Maths department teaches across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and where appropriate Key Stage 5. You will deliver engaging, practical and knowledge rich lessons that ignite curiosity and develop scientific thinking.
Job Responsibility:
Plan and deliver high quality lessons across the Maths curriculum, including practical work and assessment for learning
Use assessment to inform planning and provide targeted intervention for students who need it
Maintain high expectations of behaviour, attendance and progress so every pupil can succeed
Contribute to department curriculum development, schemes of work and assessment materials
Take part in the school's enrichment programme such as clubs, trips or practical STEM events when available
Support whole school priorities including safeguarding and pastoral care
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status
Recent secondary classroom experience teaching Maths to GCSE
Strong classroom management
Ability to differentiate for a mixed ability cohort
Confident with practical work, risk assessment and laboratory routines or willing to develop these skills quickly
Collaborative team player who contributes to development of colleagues and department practice
Clear commitment to inclusion so all pupils can access the curriculum
