Job Responsibility:
Academic Excellence: Plan and deliver high-impact lessons across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach A-Level Mathematics for the right candidate
GCSE Strategy: Lead Year 11 cohorts through their exam specifications, utilising data-driven interventions to close attainment gaps and push high-achievers
Conceptual Teaching: Move beyond rote learning to foster deep conceptual understanding, using various pedagogical styles to suit mixed-ability classes
Numerical Literacy: Champion 'Maths across the curriculum,' helping students see the vital role of numeracy in Science, Geography, and daily life
Collaborative Growth: Contribute to the development of innovative schemes of work and share best practices within a highly supportive department
Pastoral Role: Act as a Form Tutor, supporting the holistic development, wellbeing, and academic progress of your tutees
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Mandatory. A degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related highly-numerical field
Logical Clarity: The ability to break down abstract concepts (from trigonometry to calculus) into digestible, 'small-step' instructions
Growth Mindset: A belief that every student can succeed in Mathematics with the right support and encouragement
Strong Classroom Management: A firm but fair approach that creates a calm, focused environment conducive to high-level problem solving
