Job Description

Justteachers is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join a well-established and supportive secondary school in the Northampton area. This is a full-time, fixed-term position starting after the Easter break and continuing until the end of the academic year in July 2026. This vibrant secondary school is committed to delivering high-quality education within a positive and inclusive learning environment. With a strong leadership team and supportive staff culture, the school promotes both academic success and personal development. Students are encouraged to aim high, develop resilience, and take pride in their achievements.

Job Responsibility

  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Maths lessons to KS3 and KS4 students
  • Take full classroom responsibility, including lesson planning, marking, assessment, and behaviour management
  • Prepare students for GCSE examinations through structured revision, intervention sessions, and regular progress monitoring
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Contribute positively to the wider school community during the summer term

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Maths at KS3 and KS4 level
  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the UK Maths curriculum
  • Effective classroom management skills and a commitment to raising student attainment
  • Two recent, education-based references
  • Must meet the minimum experience, training or qualifications stated and have the legal right to work in the UK
