Teaching Maths is like showing someone how to cook. Instead of simply handing them a recipe, it’s about helping students grasp why certain ingredients (concepts) fit together, encouraging them to experiment with different combinations (problem-solving strategies), and building their confidence so they can create their own “dishes” (solutions) independently. At Oasis Academy Don Valley, we believe Maths is a key that can unlock opportunities for life. Our curriculum is rich, challenging, and full of potential. While it can sometimes feel daunting for both teachers and pupils, we know that the most effective maths teachers use creative, dynamic methods to make the subject engaging, accessible, and inspiring.
