Our partner Secondary PRU in Chorlton, Manchester is seeking a committed and resilient Maths Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis from January 2026. This role is ideal for a passionate teacher who wants to make a genuine impact within a SEMH / Pupil Referral Unit setting. You will be working with small class sizes, delivering engaging and differentiated KS3 and KS4 Maths to pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs who require a tailored and nurturing approach to learning.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver high-quality, differentiated Maths lessons to KS3 and KS4 pupils
Support learners with SEMH needs using positive behaviour strategies
Adapt the Maths curriculum to meet individual learning needs
Build strong, consistent relationships with pupils
Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews
Create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Minimum 6 months' teaching experience in an SEMH / PRU / alternative provision setting
Minimum 6 months' teaching experience in a UK school
Confident behaviour management and de-escalation skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Legal right to work in the UK
Nice to have:
Previous experience teaching Maths in a PRU or alternative provision
Experience delivering Maths to disengaged or vulnerable learners
Trauma-informed, restorative or therapeutic practice training
