Pink Tile Education is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Maths Specialist to join a wonderful secondary school for the summer term. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to students’ learning in a supportive and forward-thinking school environment.

Requirements

  • Must have a current DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
  • Prior experience planning and preparing lessons for secondary school students is essential
  • Passion for teaching mathematics and inspiring students

  • Ability to plan and adapt lessons to meet the needs of all learners
  • Commitment to contributing positively to the school community

  • Assists in developing, implementing, and assessing the district's elementary math curriculum as aligned with the Virginia Department of Education Standards of Learning
  • Oversees elementary initiatives and is responsible for coaching, supporting, and guiding teachers in math
  • Represents NNPS, Curriculum and Development and the Math Department in a professional manner
  • Participates in the planning and delivery of professional development to promote best practices in instruction and assessment, which also includes in-person modeling, co-teaching and coaching
  • Assists with the selection of instructional materials and equipment and with the implementation of innovative practices in math in schools and classrooms
  • Remains abreast of professional development literature, participates in professional organizations, attends (as appropriate) workshops related to best practices, and effectively disseminates information to others
  • Assists with monitoring student assessment/test results and provides assistance to improve student performance as needed within schools and classrooms
  • Initiates and maintains effective liaisons to maintain a current knowledge of developments and research in the profession
  • Effectively communicates orally and in written and presentation form with various stakeholder groups
