Are you an enthusiastic Maths lecturer who enjoys helping learners overcome barriers and build confidence? At Barking & Dagenham College, Maths is more than a qualification – it’s a gateway to problem-solving, independence and future opportunity. We’re looking for a committed and forward-thinking Lecturer – Maths to join our Maths & English Department on a full-time, permanent basis and help shape positive outcomes for learners across our community.

Job Responsibility

  • Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured Maths lessons, including schemes of work
  • Designing and implementing learner-centred assessment with clear, developmental feedback
  • Monitoring and supporting learner attendance, progress and achievement
  • Providing coaching and pastoral support to designated learners
  • Contributing to a safe, inclusive learning environment and promoting positive behaviours
  • Keeping your subject knowledge current to ensure teaching remains relevant and employability-focused
  • Actively engaging in professional development and quality improvement activity

Requirements

  • Hold a recognised teaching qualification with experience teaching in Further or Higher Education
  • Hold a qualification in Maths (or a related subject) and be willing to work towards a teaching qualification through our Passport to Teaching programme
  • A learner-focused approach with strong communication skills
  • Good organisational and administrative skills, including accurate tracking of learner data
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to support colleagues and contribute to shared goals
  • A commitment to equality, safeguarding and inclusive practice
