As a Maths Lecturer, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching that engages, challenges and supports learners across 16–18 and adult provision. You’ll contribute to the ongoing development of our curriculum, working collaboratively within a supportive department focused on continuous improvement and innovation.
Job Responsibility
Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured Maths lessons, including schemes of work
Designing and implementing learner-centred assessment with clear, developmental feedback
Monitoring and supporting learner attendance, progress and achievement
Providing coaching and pastoral support to designated learners
Contributing to a safe, inclusive learning environment and promoting positive behaviours
Keeping your subject knowledge current to ensure teaching remains relevant and employability-focused
Actively engaging in professional development and quality improvement activity
Requirements
Hold a recognised teaching qualification with experience teaching in Further or Higher Education
Hold a qualification in Maths (or a related subject) and be willing to work towards a teaching qualification through our Passport to Teaching programme
A learner-focused approach with strong communication skills
Good organisational and administrative skills, including accurate tracking of learner data
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to support colleagues and contribute to shared goals
