We are seeking a well-qualified and passionate Senior School Mathematics Teacher to join our team from August 2026. The successful candidate will inspire and challenge students through engaging, inquiry-based lessons that foster deep understanding, critical thinking, and a love for Mathematics across a range of key stages.
Job Responsibility:
Plan, prepare, and deliver stimulating Mathematics lessons aligned with the Cambridge International Curriculum
Inspire students to develop confidence and competence in problem-solving and logical reasoning
Create a supportive classroom environment where all learners can thrive and achieve their potential
Assess, track, and report on student progress, providing effective feedback to support learning
Collaborate with colleagues to develop resources and share best practices across the department
Engage in continuous professional development and reflective practice
Contribute to co-curricular enrichment and the wider life of the school
Participate in school events, meetings, and community activities as required
Undertake any other reasonable responsibilities as directed by the Head of School or line manager
Requirements:
A degree in Mathematics or a related subject, plus certified teaching status
Experience teaching IGCSE and IBDP or A-Level Mathematics within a UK or international curriculum
A proven ability to differentiate learning to meet the needs of diverse learners
A passion for inspiring curiosity, resilience, and independent learning through Mathematics
A growth mindset, strong organisational skills, and commitment to continuous improvement
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a positive and proactive attitude
A warm and supportive classroom presence that motivates students to succeed
A desire to engage fully in the vibrant, bilingual, and multicultural community of King’s College School, Cascais
Nice to have:
Experience of teaching Mathematics at IB AA Higher Level and/or Further Mathematics A Level
Experience of preparing students for competitive Mathematics undergraduate degrees (e.g., STEP papers for Cambridge University applications)
Clear potential to teach IB Mathematics AA Higher Level and/or Further Mathematics at A Level
