A well-established international British school in Madrid is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and student-centred Teacher of Mathematics and/or Economics to join its successful secondary team. The role involves fostering a love of the subject(s), ensuring strong academic outcomes, and teaching up to and including Pearson Edexcel IGCSE examination classes (and potentially A Level, depending on experience). This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to an ambitious and collaborative department.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons in Mathematics and/or Economics across the secondary school
Foster students’ analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
Contribute to a positive departmental ethos with a strong sense of purpose and pride
Support the implementation of rigorous quality-assurance processes to promote excellent teaching and learning
Collaborate on curriculum development, departmental planning, and resource design
Model outstanding classroom practice and support colleagues’ professional growth
Uphold whole-school policies related to safeguarding, behaviour, health and safety, and professional conduct
Assist with wider school duties such as cover, cycle tests, and assemblies when required
Ensure students meet or exceed progress and attainment targets
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
A minimum of two years’ experience teaching the British National Curriculum (in the UK or internationally)
Experience teaching Mathematics, Economics, or both, with a proven record of strong classroom practice and positive academic outcomes
A strong understanding of assessment to inform planning and improve student learning
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
