Job Description

A Materials Control Specialist plays a key role in ensuring that production operations run smoothly by managing the movement, accuracy, and availability of materials. This role is responsible for maintaining precise daily inventory records and completing all related documentation to support accurate material tracking. By coordinating the flow of materials through the supply chain and into production, the specialist helps prevent delays and supports uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

Job Responsibility

  • Coordinate the smooth flow of materials through supply chain on to the customer
  • Work closely with production line supervisors, schedulers, buyers and material handlers to avoid interruption in production line operations
  • Communicate with the production departments and materials management team in a timely and urgent manner
  • Recognize and solve problems
  • Manage incoming calls and direct to appropriate department as required

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in related subject matter preferred
  • 3+ years materials experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Requires thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) programs and production scheduling software
  • JD Edwards experience preferred
  • Decision-making skills
  • Communication skills
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for an employer in the U.S.
