Job Description:

The Materials Associate is directly responsible for performing receiving, shipping, and storage functions in support of production operations according to established procedures. The Materials Associate requires the ability to safely move materials to and from material storage, shipping, receiving, and production areas with accurate and timely reporting of all material relocations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Load and unload materials
  • receive materials into the Company system and verify materials against Pack Lists
  • count and weigh parts to check quantity accuracy
  • contact the buying team when shipment is inaccurate
  • pick parts for shipment and packaging
  • use material moving equipment
  • issue materials to departments
  • monitor inventory and report discrepancies
  • stock replenishment, rotation, and combining
  • assist with Cycle Counting
  • transfer parts between bin locations
  • prepare and package parts to be shipped
  • understand and adhere to current health, safety, and environmental policies
  • safely operate all equipment
  • read and understand work instructions
  • manually load and unload materials
  • accurately enter materials transactional information into SAP
  • perform transactions in the inventory system
  • read electronic and manual bill of materials
  • support 5S / Housekeeping activities
  • use appropriate deviation areas
  • load/unload materials into trailers
  • meet physical logistics KPI’s
  • adherence to FIFO standards
  • wear all required PPE
  • perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School diploma/GED, or basic skills assessment required
  • 6 months experience in fast paced industrial lean environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude preferred
  • 1 year material handling experience in a distribution environment preferred
  • Prior experience with RF scanning
  • 1 year experience as certified equipment/forklift operator in a distribution environment /active license preferred
  • Ability to read, write and differentiate numbers
  • SAP or related warehouse management system experience preferred
  • Entry level MS Word and Excel

Nice to have:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • 1 year material handling experience in a distribution environment
  • Prior experience with RF scanning
  • 1 year experience as certified equipment/forklift operator in a distribution environment /active license
