Our client is a prominent player within the heavy machining and industrial manufacturing sector. Known for their technical precision and robust project pipeline, they are currently seeking a strategic Material Planning Manager to oversee their supply chain and production requirements to support their ongoing expansion.
Job Responsibility:
Production & Material Control: Responsible for the end-to-end material planning process, ensuring all raw materials and components are available to meet heavy machining production schedules
Inventory Management: Plan and forecast monthly material requirements and expenses to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing waste
Sourcing & Procurement: Source reliable suppliers for specialized machining components and negotiate deals to ensure project costs remain within budget
Technical Oversight: Verify and approve purchase requisitions by reviewing cost comparison reports and proposing value engineering or material substitutes where necessary
Process Optimization: Evaluate and set up proper Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the planning department to enhance operational efficiency
Stakeholder Liaison: Work hand-in-hand with the Production and Project departments to ensure smooth material flow and on-time delivery of finished goods
Requirements:
Minimum of a Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a relevant field
At least 8 years of experience in material planning or procurement, specifically within a heavy machining or heavy industrial environment
Strong knowledge of production scheduling, cost management, and inventory control systems
Proven track record in developing or starting up a planning/procurement team is highly desirable
Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage tight production timelines, and influence multiple stakeholders across the board
