In this role, you will join our team as a Material Planner (Day Shift) - Consultant via Randstad Professional. This means you will benefit from the professional guidance, stability, and network of Randstad Professional, while executing a high-impact, challenging project directly within the heart of our client's complex supply chain ecosystem. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of material flows at the production site, ensuring daily operational continuity while acting as an expert and sparring partner for both internal stakeholders and external suppliers. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to actively contribute to process optimization, digitalization, and long-term strategic projects, all while working day shifts and reporting directly to the Team Leader Material Planning.
Job Responsibility
Ensure the timely availability and delivery of raw materials and ingredients in the correct quantities
Monitor and manage inventory levels, take corrective actions when needed, and minimize obsolete stock
Set up, maintain, and monitor MRP parameters within the ERP system
Prepare forecast files and align volume expectations and commitments with suppliers
Update Bills of Materials (BOMs) accurately and on time during design, packaging, or recipe changes
Define and implement long-term material strategies (including safety stock levels, dual sourcing, and inventory segmentation)
Take ownership of crucial supply chain KPIs, such as OTIF (On-Time In-Full), service levels, and working capital
Conduct scenario analyses ("what-if" simulations) related to supply risks, demand shifts, or capacity constraints
Proactively identify supply chain risks and implement effective mitigation plans
Lead cross-functional improvement projects focused on inventory reduction, service improvements, and process harmonization
Identify and implement digitalization and automation opportunities within the planning department
Actively contribute to ERP optimization and system improvements (such as SAP upgrades, tools, and dashboards)
Maintain seamless daily communication with both internal and external stakeholders
Challenge and align internal departments, including Production, Procurement, Planning, and Quality teams
Build and manage strong relationships with strategic suppliers
Share knowledge and support the roll out of process improvements across the planning team
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent through relevant professional experience
Solid understanding of production processes, organizational structures, and the end-to-end supply chain (from supplier to finished product)
Good knowledge of purchasing processes, procurement methodologies, and supplier characteristics
Fluent in Dutch and English
basic knowledge of French and/or German is a strong asset
