This is a newly created, full-time Material Planner position at the Austin facility. The role is critical for ensuring a steady supply of electronic materials for production while reducing financial risk through effective inventory management. The ideal candidate is a high-performing individual who can analyze data to proactively identify and mitigate potential issues, specifically focusing on reducing excess material. The position involves daily planning, inventory monitoring using Oracle, and collaboration with internal teams to maintain production flow
Job Responsibility
Execute daily material planning activities to ensure on-time delivery of materials to the production floor
Manage the Oracle Min/Max process for assigned materials at the Austin site, including level setting, part procurement, and exception management
Monitor inventory levels and identify potential shortages or excesses, taking corrective action as needed
Assist in managing non-conforming common material by flagging issues and coordinating with Quality teams for resolution
Process and approve material requests (Sustainment and Engineering) ensuring alignment with planning parameters
Support the management of Supplier Managed Inventory programs by monitoring consumption and reporting discrepancies to the Commodity teams
Identify and initiate the scrapping process for materials with no demand, following established procedures
Collaborate with Procurement, Stockroom, and Production teams to resolve material-related issues
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent planning/inventory control/material management experience
Above average ability using MS 365 software suite
Ability to communicate effectively in person or electronically
Comfortable presenting to senior leadership periodically
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
Strong interpersonal skills and enjoys working with others
