Job Description

This role supports one of New Zealand's most significant and technically complex vertical infrastructure developments. Designed to operate around the clock once complete, the facility incorporates high-security environments, complex building systems, and long-term asset management requirements. The project environment is fast-paced, highly collaborative and governance-led, with strong interface management across public and private sector stakeholders. We are seeking an experienced Materials & Logistics Manager to lead materials management, warehousing, and logistics functions on this nationally significant infrastructure project. This role is critical to ensuring materials are effectively managed, tracked, and delivered to support construction activities safely, efficiently, and in line with project timelines and budgets. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Materials & Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing all site-based materials and logistics operations, including warehousing, inventory, and expediting activities. You will lead a team across materials control, warehousing, and logistics to ensure timely delivery, accurate inventory management, and strong supplier coordination within a complex project environment.

  • Oversee purchase requisitions and goods receipt processes within SAP
  • Coordinate with procurement, construction, and supply chain teams to align delivery schedules

  • Lead and develop a team of supervisors and controllers, driving performance and capability
  • Monitor and manage risks associated with logistics, storage, and material handling
  • Ensure all activities are delivered in line with project schedule, budget, and quality standards

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum 10+ years' experience in materials, logistics, or warehouse management within construction
  • Experience on large-scale infrastructure or construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of inventory, stock control, and material management systems (SAP preferred)
  • Solid understanding of logistics coordination, expediting, and supplier management
  • Experience with safety and environmental management in site-based operations
  • Strong problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills

What we offer

  • Opportunity to be embedded in a large-scale, high-profile project from early stages through delivery
  • Exposure to both local best practice and world-class global systems and processes
  • Collaborative, inclusive project team environment
  • Strong leadership, structure, and support within a well-resourced organisation
