Job Description:

3 Day Blinds is seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized Material Imaging Technician to join our team in our Mexico facility. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and consistent digital capture of material samples using the TMAC system- state of the art scanning system that captures the true look and texture of physical materials to create accurate digital versions. The operator will be responsible for handling both soft and hard materials, operating high-resolution camera equipment, and coordinating between different teams locally and remote, to create reliable digital assets.

Job Responsibility:

  • Operate the TMAC scanner and Fujifilm GFX 100Sii camera to capture high-fidelity scans of all material categories (roller shades, fabrics, faux wood, wood, cellular, natural woven, sheer shading, mini metal blinds, vertical blinds, shutters)
  • Ensure materials are straight and properly aligned using a laser level before scanning
  • Monitor and manage scanning process
  • Organize and prepare samples for scanning, including steaming or pressing fabric if required
  • Compile cut samples of scanned materials to create and maintain a Material Reference Book
  • Communicate and liaise with the Sample Material Team and CGI Coordinator to pull, track, and request materials
  • Maintain accurate records in Excel, ensuring SKU cross-referencing is up to date
  • Ensure safe handling of materials and equipment

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured workflows
  • Organized and neat work habits with a focus on consistency and accuracy
  • Basic photography knowledge: understanding focus, zoom, and camera adjustments
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel for tracking and reporting
  • Strong computer literacy, must be comfortable using computers and technology to run software programs, perform troubleshooting
  • Communication skills: clear verbal and written communication in Spanish and English. Working proficiency in English (for occasional emails and meetings) preferred
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving materials, standing for prolonged periods, and safely climbing ladders
  • Ability to work effectively as a bridge between multiple teams (materials, CGI, operations)
