As a Material Handler, Packing, you are happiest when you are moving, and we will not disappoint! In this role you are responsible for performance of tasks related to drug formulation, weighing raw materials, cleaning, mixing sophisticated tanks and equipment, distilled water sanitization, filter integrity testing, and documentation. Working in a cleanroom is essential to delivering life-saving therapies.

Job Responsibility

  • Transport sterilized bags using a powered industrial truck from the cooling area to the packing line and remove previously unloaded trucks
  • Inspect and change out batteries on the powered industrial truck (if required)
  • Keep the truck unloader continuously supplied with trucks to be unloaded
  • Operate and maintain automated packaging equipment and ensure the carton erector is continuously supplied as indicated on the Bill of Material (BOM)
  • Visually inspect each bag for defects, ensure proper orientation and categorize and log any defects identified
  • Manually unload trucks and package bags when necessary
  • Unpackage product and reinspect when necessary
  • Assist in performing line clearance
  • Notify the supervisor and take appropriate action if any safety, quality, mechanical or discrepancy issues occur
  • Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles
  • Learn, understand, and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and must be at least 18 years of age
  • One year of manufacturing experience, preferred
  • Possess or be able to obtain PIT Operator Certification
  • Possess or be able to obtain Inspector Certification
  • Basic English written and oral communication skills adequate to communicate with other team members
  • Understand verbal and written safety and quality instructions and read and comprehend written work instructions including words and drawings
  • Ability to perform basic mathematics
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds at a height up to 40 inches and carry up to 40 pounds at a distance of up to 25 feet occasionally throughout the shift
  • Must be able to push and pull up to 48 pounds at a distance of up to 15 feet occasionally throughout the shift
  • Normal visual acuity and the ability to distinguish color are necessary
  • Pass the Powered Industrial Truck (P.I.T.) physical
  • Stand, walk, climb stairs, reach forward, reach overhead, balance, stoop, crouch
  • Handle objects and operate controls using fine/simple/firm grasping and fingering
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

  • Carga, descarga y traslado de material entre las diferentes áreas de manufactura. Verificar que cada carga cumpla con todas las especificaciones y procedimientos. Recibe devoluciones de los materiales de las áreas de manufactura utilizando los sistemas de GME y DCLink. Al comienzo y durante del turno preparar los materiales de manufactura y empaque que se utilizaran durante su turno de manufactura. Responsable de completar el manifiesto para el despacho de materiales. Generar las etiquetas o 'labels' que utilizará para el empaque de los distintos materiales, ya sean etiquetas QCF-50 o etiquetas electrónicas de POMs. Preparar 'Move tickets' para movimiento de materiales. Cumplir en todo momento con las reglas de la compañía, con las Buenas Prácticas de Documentación y regulaciones de EHS. Organizar 'staging area' colocando paletas y cajas suficientes para la producción del turno. Diariamente entrar y verificar el sistema de PRMS para realizar inventarios, despachos y dar de baja los materiales en sistema. Suplir con la vestimenta apropiada los 'gownings' de las áreas de manufactura, incluyendo, redecillas, guantes, 'shoe covers' y cubre barbas. Retar Schedule de trabajo diariamente y colocar producto en sus destinos correspondientes. Mantener el área de trabajo limpia y organizada cumpliendo con SOL 6S. Disponible para apoyar otras áreas según lo requiera el Supervisor o el Asistente. Realizar la limpieza y sanitización de los carros antes de entrarlos al cuarto limpio de manufactura. Responsable de reportar cualquier equipo defectuoso o situación de daños y riesgos en su área de trabajo. Reportar activamente peligros de salud y seguridad, aspectos ambientales, incidentes, riesgos y oportunidades en el sistema de gestión de EHS. Participa en el desarrollo, planificación, implementación, evaluación de desempeño y acciones para el continuo mejoramiento del sistema de gestión de EHS. Revisar diariamente el estado de los montacargas. Realizar ajustes menores y mantenimiento preventivo de rutina en el montacargas (como verificar el nivel de agua de la batería, probar el freno, etc.). Preparar requisición al solicitar materiales necesarios en el 'Stock Room'. Asegurase de preparar los 'gaylors' plásticos y/o cartón (el reciclaje) para empacar el producto de manufactura. Leer órdenes de trabajo o seguir instrucciones verbales para encontrar material o material que debe ser movido del área. Cargar materiales desde el área de almacenamiento hasta el área de trabajo designada. Responsables de solicitar vagón para embarque de producto final. Descargar vagón y remover material en caso de ser necesario. Responsable de inspeccionar el vagón a ser cargado con producto final y documentar en la forma correspondiente. Responsable de cargar el vagón con producto final, sellar el vagón y documentar en la forma correspondiente. Identificar los materiales retenidos con sus respectivos documentos (copia del PRR) y asegurarse de moverlos a la jaula de cuarentena. Responsables de buscar, preparar y distribuir solventes que se utilizan en el área de manufactura. Levantar objetos pesados a mano o utilizando un montacargas. Debe ser capaz de manejar múltiples tareas al mismo tiempo. Orientado al trabajo en equipo. Asegurarse de dejar materiales para el arranque del próximo turno. Podrán asignarse otras funciones afines al cargo.
