As Material Handler, you will coordinate inbound and outbound material handling, ensuring accurate receiving, storage, documentation, and traceability. You will work with Receiving Inspection, resolve receiving discrepancies, operate forklifts, and pull materials for production orders based on priorities and customer needs. Additionally, you will develop part knowledge and support production fulfilment and external processing shipments for the Rapid Response Team.
Job Responsibility:
Receive, inspect, and process hazardous and non-hazardous materials in SAP, ensuring accurate documentation and storage
Pull and verify materials for Production Orders based on Picking Lists, ensuring timely movement to the next operation
Prepare and stage parts for external processing (e.g., Heat Treatment, Plating), including packaging, documentation, and shipment coordination
Identify, document, and resolve receiving discrepancies related to packing lists, quantities, P.O.s, or SAP configurations
Operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts and Work Assist Vehicles (WAVs) following safety checks and handling procedures
Maintain warehouse organization by allocating materials, conducting cycle counts, and optimizing space
Follow OSHA, HAZWOP, RCRA, and DOT Hazardous material handling standards
Support Receiving, Shop Operations, and other departments as needed to maintain workflow efficiency
Requirements:
Three plus (3+) years preferred in industrial or heavy-duty material handling
SAP knowledge preferred, with basic understanding of inventory transactions, receiving, stock movements, and adjustments
Ability to safely operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts and Work Assist Vehicles (WAVs) (required)
Understanding of hazardous and non-hazardous material storage, handling, and compliance with OSHA, HAZWOP, RCRA, and DOT Hazardous standards
Ability to perform basic math calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages for inventory counts and stock movements
Ability to communicate via email to coordinate with Planning, Procurement, and Inspection, resolve receiving discrepancies, and track material movements
Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain inventory accuracy, and ensure proper stock handling while meeting deadlines
Basic proficiency with computers for email and SAP transactions, as well as hand tools and a tape measure for material verification
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. individually and team-lift heavier items as needed
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a shop floor environment, assisting other departments as needed
A high school diploma or GED equivalent
Two plus (2+) years with material handling/shipping & receiving, preferably including RF scanners, loading trucks, inventory and picking & packing
Forklift experience and certification preferred
Nice to have:
Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), inventory tracking, or exportation software is a plus
