Job Description

Material Handler is responsible for the safe, accurate loading and unloading of products within the distribution center.

Job Responsibility

  • Safe, accurate loading and unloading of products
  • Pallet/Case Picking: scanning bar codes, picking and labeling boxes, pick, pack and process orders, processing orders through RF technology, maintain work area, complete RF device training
  • Pallet Build: scanning, retrieving, and placing completed orders on pallets, re-palletizing products, dock manifest duties, transport pallets by MHE
  • Inbound/Outbound/Inventory Movement: load/unload shipments utilizing WMS, load/off-load pallets safely, maintain work area, complete RF training, follow safety instructions, maintain C2C training
  • Operate material handling equipment safely
  • Report damage/maintenance issues
  • Maintain security and safety
  • Report injuries, accidents, unsafe acts, hazards
  • Understand quality goals
  • Maintain cleanliness
  • May receive Hazmat training
  • Cross-train in other warehouse positions
  • Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
  • Maintain clean and professional image
  • Perform job activities safely
  • Keep equipment neat and orderly
  • Maintain equipment certification
  • May operate parcel manifest station
  • May handle transportation documentation
  • Responsible for accuracy verification and shipment packaging
  • Complete duties timely
  • Report suspicious activity

Requirements

  • Experience with MHE (Order Pickers, Reach Trucks, Counterbalance, Dock Stocker)
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Basic analytical, organizational and prioritization skills
  • General distribution knowledge
  • High School diploma, GED or 2 years of relevant experience
  • Must be able to obtain Forklift Certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced distribution environment
  • Ability to read and interpret distribution documents
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • May be required to operate MHE and use Voice/RF scanner
  • Ability to perform/operate in a metrics-driven environment
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without accommodation

  • Using the Enterprise Resource Planning software (GME) to access and update inventory locations if necessary, along with utilize multiple other software systems to execute daily and weekly tasks
  • Receives IPSO (Inter-Plant Shipping Orders) and prepares them for shipment
  • Secure trailer while loading by blocking and locking out
  • Load raw materials and production supplies into trailers and box trucks
  • Pre-Op the forklift and change out batteries (if required)
  • Notify the supervisor and take appropriate action if any safety, quality, mechanical or discrepancy issues occur
  • Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles
  • Learn, understand, and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
