High School Diploma or GED is preferred, but not required
1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred, but not required
Ability to read production schedule
Ability to weigh or count items for distribution
Visual verification of items
Physical movement of product
Operation of material handling equipment (if applicable)
Responsible for removal and waste tracking
Inspection of product load for accuracy
Convey materials using a manual pallet jack

Job Responsibility

Reads production schedule to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards
Requires visual verification of items, physical movement of the product from production into the warehouse area
If applicable, operates/drives material handling equipment to transport stored items within the packaging room/facility
Responsible for removal and waste tracking in the packaging department
Inspects product load for accuracy, and safely moves it around the packaging floor or other parts of the facility as needed to ensure timely and complete delivery
Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage area or to other designated areas using a manual pallet jack
Position lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, and boxes, and secure material or products for transport to designated areas
Opens bales, crates, and other containers. Removes excess cardboard and straps to be disposed of properly
Moves portable equipment to packaging floor from storage area and sets up per requirements while maintaining safety standards

Requirements

1–3 years of warehouse, shipping, or inventory experience

Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to read and match numbers and letters quickly and accurately
Strong mathematical skills

Job Responsibility

Locate and pull merchandise by matching item codes and numbers on the pick ticket against part number on the merchandise
Place merchandise in tote or stage bulk items in the appropriate area
Mark the tote by customer number and send down the conveyor when the order is completed
Make sure all totes are labeled for the correct store and do not exceed 60 lbs
Maintain DC standards for both accuracy and productivity when picking orders
Consolidate and pack all stock order merchandise quickly and accurately
Itemize all products not shipped in totes on the freight bill
Operate handheld computers (RF units) and/or voice picking equipment at WMS DCs
Check items off of the freight bill as they are loaded
Load trucks quickly and accurately
