The Material Handler position will operate and interact with packaging equipment in a production environment. This will include operating packaging lines, handling material movements within plant, and working to complete production schedules.
Job Responsibility
Operate with a safety-first mindset
Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Ensure all quality standards are met (checking first piece on inbound packaging components, some in process testing of materials, and communication with lab team)
Operate equipment up to efficiency standards (depalletizes, case conveyers, case packers, fillers, carton erecters, palletizers, wrappers, etc.)
Performing routine preventative maintenance and inspections on packaging equipment and or PITs
Maintain 5S standards (continuous cleaning of area while plant is operating)
Operate powered industrial trucks
Maintain cross training on multiple pieces of equipment
Remaining up to date with safety, LMS, and ISO trainings
Manual operations may include putting corrugated board on packaging lines, handling bottles or cases, pouch/bags and cleaning of equipment
Employees will be trained and must utilize machine safety standards that will include control of hazardous energy, LOTO, and fortress keys
Employees will be required to be engaged in additional safety programs which include but are not limited to PPE, ergonomics, PIT, and safety/environmental programs
Requirements
High school diploma/GED required
Basic computer skills
Positive attitude
Previous experience in team environments
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with SAP
Previous experience with scanners and WMS
Forklift certification
Ability to frequently lift up to 50llbs, walk up and down stairs, stand and squat multiple times throughout shift. Must be able to hear and see safety devices and warnings
Environment: mostly indoors in a non-temperature-controlled environment (hot summers, cold winters)
