As a Material Handler III, you support the efficient production of Plastic Pour Bottles by ensuring materials are accurate, available, and properly handled throughout the process. You perform line clearances, verify materials, and operate forklifts to move gaylords and totes between production and warehouse areas. You also prepare containers by cleaning and relining them, stage finished goods, and report any issues to leadership. Your role includes maintaining documentation, supporting Lean initiatives, and upholding safety, housekeeping, and 6S standards.
Job Responsibility
Perform manufacturing processes for the production of Plastic Pour Bottles
Perform and document line clearances
Verify correctness of material
Responsible for supplying parts to and from the manufacturing operation
Operate forklift to transfer gaylords and totes to/from warehouse
Clean and bring empty gaylords into the department to be filled with preforms
Remove used gaylord bags from the empty gaylords and replace with new bags
Stack and remove filled preform gaylords from the production area on a forklift and stage in the released warehouse area
Report abnormalities and corrective action to shift leader/supervision
Participate in continuous improvement efforts and Lean exercises
Maintain good housekeeping and 6S responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
High school diploma required
Additional technical experience, training, or education a plus
Basic mathematical skills and computer skills required
Ability to read and understand specifications and procedures
Able to complete documentation legibly and per procedure
Trained as forklift and hand cart driver preferred
Audiometric testing and hearing protection required
Learn, understand and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
Notify the supervisor and take appropriate action if any safety, quality, mechanical or discrepancy issues occur
Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles
Ability to bend, stoop and climb ladders
