Job Description

The Boeing Company is seeking a Material Estimating and Pricing Specialist (Experienced or Senior) to support the Satellites Estimating and Pricing (E&P) team located in Seal Beach, CA or El Segundo, CA. Our team is open to a broad range of experience levels including Level 3 and Level 4 Specialists to find the best fit for the position. This position will support U.S. Government type contracts and proposal activities supporting Government Satellites Systems/Space Mission Systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a variety of estimating tasks including priced bill of materials, and cost volume preparation, proposal development, fact-finding, and negotiation. This candidate will be a part of a unique cross-functional team working with Contracts, Estimating, Supplier Management, Business Development, and Program Management to evaluate customer requests for proposals and statements of work. The individual will maintain communications with internal and external partners to ensure cost proposals are accurate, complete and of the highest quality.

Job Responsibility

  • Leads development of complex estimates and prices from complex technical requirements through the design, build and support stages of the program
  • Leads development and application of pricing strategies using innovative computational techniques
  • Leads business proposals, evaluates and makes recommendations based on complex requests for proposal and substantiates estimates and pricing
  • Builds and develops complex pricing models
  • Leads and performs complex analyses and provides recommendations in support of pricing and estimating (risk, financial, driven, etc.)
  • Resolves database requirements and identifies new data sources
  • Leads the development/application/maintenance of outstanding and non-unique rates and factors for estimating
  • Leads compliance activities, policy and procedure development, deployment of new systems/tools, training development/delivery and internal audits
  • Develops estimates from historical data, parametric analysis, technical requirements and diverse sources of data
  • Prepares complex Priced Bill of Material estimate and Prime Termination Proposals
  • Performs risk and opportunity analysis

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 3+ years of experience performing cost estimating/pricing function

Nice to have

  • 5+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in at least one of the following fields: Business, Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics
  • Experience working in multifaceted and diverse teams across multiple functions
  • Experience leading projects with little direct supervision and drive project to completion
  • Experience working under tight deadlines with competing priorities
  • Experience with the proposal process and using data analysis to drive decision making
  • Experience with United States Government (USG) Cost Accounting Standards and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
