Job Description:

Would you like to be part of an employee-owned, multi award-winning architecture practice whose desire is to make spaces and places that improve lives? We are looking for a Masterplanner to join our friendly, dynamic Masterplanning and Urban Design Team. You will work alongside our Head of Masterplanning and in-house team to manage and deliver project outputs, and assist with achieving our ambitions to grow this business specialism, while supporting the multidisciplinary designers across our studios in the UK and Republic of Ireland.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop, monitor, and measure project performance against our Strategic Objectives and Sustainability Roadmap
  • Working with the Heads of Masterplanning, Residential and Regeneration leads to develop our design visions and innovation within the masterplanning environment and continue to maintain high levels of client satisfaction
  • Assist with maintaining team resources and project efficiencies
  • Assist collaboratively with all project teams where required
  • Work to identify new methods and outputs to support our Strategic Objectives
  • Be part of the business strategic plan to make HLM’s business operations zero carbon by 2030

Requirements:

  • Background degree in either Architecture, Landscape or Masterplanning
  • Hold a Master’s in Urban Design or equivalent qualification
  • 5 years post-qualification experience
  • Experience working in a UK masterplanning/architecture/landscape architectural/built environment design practice
  • Ability to lead current and future projects with in-house and external teams
  • Technical capability and understanding of UK legislation and guidance in relation to submission of outline applications
  • Self-motivated with a passion for design, the quality of the environment and client satisfaction
  • Great communication skills, verbal, written and presentation – and experience of creating community and stakeholder engagement content
  • A sound understanding of urban design principles
  • Relevant post-graduate and professional qualifications
  • Knowledge of Revit, Adobe suite of apps, and excel are important

  • Examples of achieving design excellence and/or pioneering research-based work
  • Experience of working for UK Housebuilders, and/or institutional developers
  • Maintained good client relations
