Job Responsibility

Perform basic automotive maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements, to meet Meineke's high-quality standards
Assist experienced technicians in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles
Follow Meineke's standard operating procedures and safety guidelines while handling tools, equipment, and vehicle systems
Conduct routine inspections and assist in basic repairs on brakes, suspension systems, exhaust systems, and other automotive components
Maintain accurate records of services performed, including parts used, labor hours, and vehicle conditions, ensuring compliance with Meineke's documentation standards
Collaborate with senior technicians and service advisors to effectively communicate vehicle issues, repair recommendations, and estimated costs to customers
Uphold Meineke's commitment to customer satisfaction by providing excellent service and addressing customer concerns professionally
Continuously update your knowledge and skills through training sessions, workshops, and Meineke's resources to stay up-to-date with automotive industry trends and advancements

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
Possess a valid Driver's License
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Mechanic or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work
ASE certification preferred but not required
Follow written and oral instructions effectively with Management, Service Manager and other employees
Read and interpret technical and service manuals, instructions and documents
Lifting/Carrying: Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. and carry up to 30 lbs.
Bending and Twisting: Must be able to perform the functions of the job, twisting and bending down to remove/replace parts on vehicle
Kneeling and Squatting: Must be able to kneel on the ground to perform job functions
Operate a vehicle and diagnostic equipment, and a variety of hand, electric and air tools

Job Responsibility

Comprehends and can demonstrate the technical knowledge required to achieve repairs and maintenance in the automotive industry
Inspect and perform preventive and corrective maintenance of the customer vehicles
Understands, identifies and mitigates safety hazards while reporting any potentially unsafe conditions
Installation, diagnosis, servicing, and repair of gasoline engines, brake systems, steering and suspension systems, and related systems
Performs maintenance and safety inspection functions including but not limited to, inspecting and replacing parts, such as batteries, wiper blades, brake systems, filters and related components
Services vehicles and equipment with fluids and lubricants, mounting and balancing tires, and servicing front end steering and suspension systems
Inspects, analyze, and troubleshoot automotive systems
Assembles mechanical components according to manufacturer specifications
Operates and oversees diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems to include AC and Electrical components of vehicles
Understands the necessity and shows ability to complete the intake of the vehicle, perform the work requested and deliver the vehicle to the service manager after work is completed

PSV engineering experience is essential
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Bus & Coach, Heavy Vehicle or Automotive Engineering
Strong diagnostic capability using tools such as Cummins Insite, Volvo Tech Tool, ACTIA, WABCO, Xentry and similar
Good working knowledge of electrical systems, wiring looms, harnesses, alternators, starters and multiplexing

Job Responsibility

Take the lead on complex mechanical and electrical diagnostics across our PSV fleet
Diagnose and repair issues across engines, gearboxes, axles, body systems and high-voltage equipment
Work with advanced systems including CAN Line, After-Treatment Exhaust Systems, Multiplex networks, Euro5/Euro6 engines and hybrid technologies
Be the technical authority for fault investigations, root cause analysis and system performance
Act as custodian of all technical campaigns and fleet checks, ensuring our buses meet the highest safety and compliance standards
Provide expert advice to the Engineering Manager and liaise with OEM suppliers, chassis manufacturers and technical support teams
Support engineers across the depot and mentor apprentices where required
Carry out technical projects and trials on behalf of the wider Engineering leadership team
