We are offering a basic salary up to £46,790, depending on skills and experience, based on a 41-hour working week, plus an additional over-performance bonus opportunity. Our Huddersfield site is ideally located with excellent transport links, making it easily commutable from surrounding areas such as Halifax, Bradford, Wakefield, Dewsbury and Leeds. This is a modern, well-equipped workshop where quality, teamwork and customer satisfaction sit at the heart of everything we do. As a Master Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering an outstanding customer experience built on trust, honesty and first-time fix quality. You will be the technical expert within the workshop, responsible for advanced diagnosis, complex repairs and supporting the wider team with your knowledge and experience.

Job Responsibility

  • Carrying out high-level diagnostic work, servicing and repairs to Volkswagen standards
  • Utilising your technical expertise to improve workshop efficiency and performance
  • Liaising professionally with Service Advisors, customers and senior management
  • Supporting and mentoring Apprentice Technicians, helping to develop future talent
  • Ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality, with a right-first-time approach

Requirements

  • A relevant formal qualification in Automotive City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3
  • Current experience as a Vehicle Technician
  • MOT license preferred but not essential
  • Your own set of tools
  • A full UK driving licence

  • Act as the first point of contact for advanced fault finding and technical repairs across specific bus types
  • Carry out diagnostic testing on a wide range of company vehicles and equipment
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in mechanical and electrical diagnostics
  • Take ownership of technical campaigns and fleet checks within the depot
  • Report identified faults to the Technical and Systems Manager
  • Provide technical advice and support to the Engineering Manager
  • Support projects and trials on behalf of the Engineering Director and/or Technical Manager
  • Build strong working relationships with engineers and mentor apprentices where appropriate
  • Maintain effective communication with chassis/body manufacturers and OEM suppliers
