Job Description

The Master Production Scheduler will be responsible for the development and ownership of the master production schedule covering all critical manufacturing resources and ensuring that the plan fulfills customer demand and is balanced with resources and available capacity.

  • Ensure cross-functional involvement / alignment with all key stakeholders
  • Support Production management/ME concerning resource capability/capacity, labor availability/working calendar and demonstrated performance
  • Support Program Management concerning new parts PPAP, run at rate, product launch and End-of-Life planning
  • Design and develop the production schedule plan considering all aspects of production including low cost, timeliness, efficiency, plant capacity, and customer fulfillment
  • Plan and schedule production sequence for each department and operation to maintain/improve established manufacturing workflow and efficiency
  • Coordinate/expedite manufacturing releases/builds to ensure production schedules are achieved and on-time shipment to customer
  • Monitor the production plan daily to ensure it fully supports the Master Production Schedule and meets customer service goals, operational targets, inventory levels, and capacity utilization objectives
  • Run daily production reports to review open sales orders, monitor backlog, identify shortages and/or production issues
  • Revise schedules to accommodate demand fluctuation, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions
  • Forecast the aggregate production requirements for the plant
  • monitor production workloads and capacities
  • produce a master production schedule to control and pace both internal production and the external supply chain

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in production planning/scheduling in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience interfacing with suppliers and managing supplier demand
  • BA/BS degree in supply chain, business management, or equivalent business discipline
  • Proven ability to structure and conduct advanced supply chain analyses within SAP or other ERP systems, in the areas of inventory management, production planning, capacity planning, product launch planning, forecasting, and BOM documentation
  • Demonstrated experience in managing the supplier interface – forecasting, order fulfillment, supplier collaboration, relationship building and problem resolution
  • Proficient in Excel (ex: able to use filters, pivot tables and V/H-Lookups to efficiently analyze and manipulate spreadsheet data)
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
