The Master and Reference Data Strategy Group Manager is responsible for defining and establishing the Enterprise-wide Master and Reference Data Strategy for the enterprise in coordination with the Data Governance team. The overall objective is to support the creation, maintenance and adoption of a unified and consistently defined fit-for-purpose enterprise-wide Reference and Master Data domains. This role is responsible for the governance framework and supporting processes to effectively govern and embed Master and Reference Data across Citi.
Job Responsibility:
Full management responsibility of a team of professionals, including management of people, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions/terminations and budget approval
Lead the design, reviews and ratification of Master and Reference Data Governance framework and supporting processes for domain level and data capabilities across Citi
Develop detailed processes that are aligned to the Reference Data strategy / architecture enablement
Ensure alignment to the enterprise data governance policy and standards to meet its specific requirements
Influences and negotiates with senior leaders (across functions)
may communicate and negotiate with external parties
Develops and manages the strategy (architectural or adoption or governance or portfolio) for a group (portfolio) of domain
Ensure the Enterprise Reference Data processes and tooling are created and implemented in a manner that creates value for businesses to adopt
Partner with Functions, Businesses and Regions to identify gaps in current data domain and lifecycle governance and management processes, and ensure data governance objectives, framework, and processes are well understood and meets business needs and regulatory requirements
Drive the successful delivery of all MRD projects ensuring stream lead and business expectation is always met or exceeded on requirements, time, cost and quality
Requirements:
10+ years of experience, Banking or Finance industry preferred in a quantitative field (e.g. engineering, computer science, business, economics, finance, statistics, and/or analytics)
Deep knowledge of financial data, along with an understanding of regulatory, compliance, risk management and financial management concerns
Proven ability to act independently, work quickly and with careful attention to detail, juggle multiple priorities and thrive in a varied, fast-paced environment
Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, appreciation of the enterprise data vision
Self-motivated, with the ability to make decisions in the absence of detailed instructions
Communicates effectively, develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences
