We are looking for a dedicated mass tort paralegal to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Wilmington, Delaware. This role is ideal for a skilled individual with experience in paralegal functions and client management, who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment. You will play a key role in ensuring seamless communication with clients, maintaining critical deadlines, and supporting the litigation team in preparing case files.
Job Responsibility:
Respond promptly to client inquiries and manage incoming and outgoing client correspondence
Order, track, and review client medical records to gather evidence for case documentation, ensuring follow-ups are completed as needed
Maintain and manage client-related deadlines, including statutes of limitations and discovery-specific timelines
Prepare and submit discovery documents such as interrogatory answers, Plaintiff Fact Sheets, and Census Forms, while addressing deficiencies
Collaborate with Client Service and litigation teams to ensure client files are complete, meet discovery deadlines, and are trial-ready
Conduct legal research using tools like Westlaw, LexisNexis, and public-access websites to support case preparation
Utilize Microsoft Word and Excel to organize and manage project-related tasks effectively
Monitor and update calendars for legal deadlines and ensure compliance with client-specific requirements
Assist in managing client intake and ensure all necessary documentation is accurately recorded
Support mass tort litigation efforts through effective communication and coordination with team members
Requirements:
Proven experience working in a paralegal or legal support role, preferably within a client-focused environment
Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other relevant platforms
Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel for managing documentation and projects
Familiarity with case management software and tools like Aderant and Adobe Acrobat
Excellent organizational and communication skills to handle client correspondence and meet deadlines
Experience with client intake processes and managing multi-line phone systems
Ability to work collaboratively with teams to ensure efficient case preparation and management
Knowledge of mass tort litigation and related legal procedures is highly desirable
