Job Responsibility:
Define, implement and monitor mass properties management standards, tools and processes
Prepare status and outlook weight, center of gravity and inertia data for aircraft in development
Initial estimate of the impacts on weight and center of gravity of the modifications on aircraft
Ensure the follow-up and validation of the final analysis of the impacts on weight, center of gravity and inertia of the modifications on aircraft carried out by the subcontractor (ATA paint & routing)
Provide support to Chief Engineering and Program for decision making
Leading exchanges with Airbus and Leonardo partners for mass properties domain
Leading weight saving project (design and maturity review with partners and engineering center of competence)
Provide internal and external support on all matters relating to mass properties
Collaborate with various engineering centers of competence (documentation, cabin, system, load, structure, certification) as well as with the offices in relation with the customer (marketing, technical and operational support, delivery) in the quest for optimum mass
Preparation and execution of contractual weighing and creation of weight reports, loading plans and trim sheets
Preparation and follow-up of loading plans for test flights of production aircraft and ATR prototypes
Punctual interventions on the ATR production site will be necessary during the day as well as in the evening and on weekends, on call-duty, for contractual weighing (mainly in the last quarter or during periods of strong delivery activities)
Requirements:
Degree in Aeronautical Engineering
5 to 15 years in Mass properties (Engineering)
Weight, Center of gravity and Inertia assessment methods
Definition of weight limitations and certified center of gravity envelope
Definition of mechanical equilibrium of an aircraft on ground
General knowledge of aeronautical structure, systems and cabin
Microsoft® Office Package, especially Excel® and VBA® programming for macro realization
Knowledge of CATIA V5 or 3DEX or ARAS
Good knowledge of Airbus tools (IBM, EBAM, Airina...)
