The Markets Data Lead (VP-C13) is a pivotal role within the Markets Program Management and Execution, Data Solutions group. This position is accountable for the identification, implementation, and successful delivery of strategic data solutions vital for Consent Order remediation within the Markets Business. The role drives the transformation and strengthening of the firm's data governance, modernizing data infrastructure, and streamlining the data operating model to meet strategic priorities. This includes ensuring Markets Business Domains adhere to Citi's Data Governance Policy (CDGP) and possess the necessary tools for effective data governance and management. The successful candidate will collaborate extensively with senior management and cross-functional teams, including Data Domain Managers, Technology, Finance, Risk, Operations, and Compliance, to achieve critical Data Governance outcomes and support Article V Consent Order Use Cases. The role demands strong interpersonal skills, data analysis capabilities, and project management expertise to manage complex initiatives under tight deadlines.

Job Responsibility:

  • Drive the establishment of robust business data requirements, ensuring alignment with external regulatory commitments across diverse business functions and teams
  • Lead stakeholder engagement and relationship management across key internal and external organizations, including Markets Business, the Enterprise Data Office (EDO), and various working groups
  • Develop and deliver clear, concise, and impactful executive-level communications and progress reports for working groups, steering committees, and senior leadership, specifically ensuring the successful delivery of regulatory commitments
  • Oversee the implementation and interpretation of Citi Data Governance Policy within Markets, facilitating effective communication and adherence across Markets Domain Managers and supporting teams
  • Manage and deliver multiple data initiatives, encompassing data requirements, issues management, data quality rules, lineage, and taxonomy, ensuring comprehensive front-to-back project planning and artifact generation
  • Proactively identify, manage, and escalate risks, issues, and dependencies to ensure timely resolution and successful project delivery
  • Effectively manage ad-hoc requests, project planning, and communications, adapting to evolving priorities

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in defining and implementing significant Business Transformation or Data projects within a global financial institution or consulting firm
  • Demonstrable expertise in managing and executing complex data programs, including data sourcing, transformation, enrichment, and governance, particularly for trade and supporting data
  • In-depth knowledge of Capital Markets products (e.g., Commodities, Equities, Fixed Income, FX / Currencies, Prime, Rates, Collateral, Clearing), coupled with an understanding of associated operations, support, and control functions
  • Extensive exposure to Data Domains and advanced Data Management concepts (e.g., Lineage, ADS, Master Data, Data Quality Controls, Insights)
  • Strong business analysis and problem-solving capabilities, with a track record of shaping opportunities through conceptual thinking
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with a proven ability to lead and manage initiatives through direct and matrix reporting lines, driving results across global operations and technology organizations
  • Expertise in project and program management, including end-to-end planning, risk management, and the ability to gain consensus and drive initiatives to completion
  • Hands-on experience in designing and implementing structured business/operational processes and developing comprehensive business requirements documentation
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, capable of delivering effective messages to diverse audiences, from technical colleagues to senior management
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate discussions, build consensus, influence stakeholders, and mobilize cross-functional teams in a co-operative and collaborative environment
