Fantasy Flight Games (FFG) is a pioneering publisher of hobby board and card games, including trademarked Living Card Games®. Established in 1995, FFG has earned a reputation for its epic themes, immersive gameplay, and top-level components. Many of FFG’s most popular titles are based on beloved licenses such as Star Wars™, Marvel, J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, and George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire. In addition, FFG has its own iconic universes such as Arkham Horror Files, Terrinoth Legends, and Twilight Imperium. Throughout the course of the studio’s rich history, FFG has published games in over thirty languages and distributed to more than fifty territories. Fantasy Flight Games is a subsidiary of Paris-based Asmodee Group, a leading global publisher of tabletop games. The Marketing Manager, TCG will oversee and contribute to the overall marketing plans for Fantasy Flight Games, TCG vertical. They are responsible for managing and leading a cross-functional team in developing fun, engaging, and effective marketing plans to drive interest in the TCG verticals games, events, and promotions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Plan, develop, and write compelling, engaging content for the web, social media, advertising, and other marketing materials
  • Updates TCG website pages with news articles, image content, product information, appropriate links, contest rules, and other relevant consumer information
  • Oversee and manage the complete editorial calendar for website and social media content for designated TCG products
  • Develops and oversees, in collaboration with Marketing Director, execution of marketing plans for all TCG product lines, spanning multiple channels, including website, livestream, produced video, print ads, social media, digital advertising and more
  • Work directly with key stakeholders, including Studio leadership, marketing leadership, and Asmodee marketing leads
  • Maintains a collaborative working relationship with Studio leadership, including ongoing meetings and communication, sharing plans, asset gathering, and other activities that promote successful marketing of TCG products
  • Develop compelling content for press releases, media kits, and other external communications materials to convey our brand messaging effectively
  • Collaborates with industry influencers regarding prerelease spoilers, previews, unboxing and other tactics to showcase TCG products
  • Serve as a spokesperson for the TCG vertical, articulating our brand values and initiatives in interviews, conferences, and public appearances as needed
  • Collaborates with the Digital Manager to analyze data and insights from various platforms to inform and adjust strategic marketing plans and tactics
  • Ultimately responsible for timely delivery of content per the schedule, including approvals from licensors and internal stakeholders
  • Ensures all content is on strategy, on schedule, and up to a high-quality bar
  • Coordinates globally with marketing teams from other branches of Asmodee, enabling all marketing assets created by the FFG Marketing Team to be localized and released simultaneously by all sister branches
  • Crafts, directs, and produces TCG marketing presentations, including consumer-facing as well as internal-only presentations
  • Lead the conceptualization and implementation of innovative PR campaigns to enhance brand visibility and reputation
  • Travels to multiple shows per year, assisting with the successful production of the event, fan engagement, and serving as an ambassador for the FFG brand
  • Provide leadership/motivation and convey the vision and strategies of the Marketing staff
  • Train, manage, and supervise marketing staff, including day-to-day assignments, performance reviews, promotions, disciplinary actions (as needed), and other administrative tasks
  • Attend and participate in regular team meetings, scheduling meetings, and other department meetings as needed
  • Research and fully understand new products and product lines to develop deep marketing content for them
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to inform PR strategies and maintain a competitive edge
  • All other tasks as directed by management

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Creative Writing, or related field
  • At least five (5) years of professional marketing experience
  • At least one (1) year of team management experience preferred
  • Experience in the hobby game market preferred
  • Must have exceptional skills planning, developing, and executing marketing materials with emphasis on creative website and social media writing
  • Some knowledge of backend website navigation
  • Must have intimate knowledge for organic content posting and advertising on social media platforms: Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter
  • Knowledge of Google advertising and analytics
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail
  • Must enjoy a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and frequent high-peak times
  • Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring a staff of creative professionals
  • Strategic thinker who can see the big picture
  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize projects as well as delegate, assign, and manage tasks to team members
  • Must be trustworthy with highly confidential materials
  • Must be detail oriented and extremely well organized
  • Some international travel may be required
