Job Description:

The Marketing Manager Cake is part of pladis UK&I Cake Business Unit and member of the Cake Leadership Team. This role has end-to-end accountability for Cake marketing, from strategy to execution. This role will define the Cake Marketing strategy for pladis UK&I Cake, relevant for Grocery, Discounters and C&I, and drive Consumer to Shopper execution across Comms, innovation, activation and performance.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver pladis UK&I Cake P&L with Budget targets of NSV, volume, TGC/TGC% and GP
  • Develop pladis UK&I 3-year marketing strategy aligned with the VP Cake and pladis UK&I CMO, including portfolio, brand and channel play
  • Build yearly brand plans, including Product, range, promotional and pack price architecture recommendation
  • Manage development of pladis Cake marketing plans, across OOH, digital, social media, in-store, PR, and licencing opportunities
  • Drive consumer and Shopper agenda, working with CMI partners to understand and leverage Insights
  • Develop demand-centric innovation pipeline, in collaboration with pladis R&D and manufacturing
  • Partner with Commercial Excellence team to lead and deliver projects on time in full
  • Line management of 1 direct report and leadership and influence of cross-functional teams

Requirements:

  • Marketing experience within Food / FMCG required
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a sophisticated portfolio (preferably in confectionery)
  • Consumer and Shopper champion with ability to leverage insights to build long-term sustainable strategy
  • Multimedia comms campaign development and agency management experience
  • Experience of partnering for development of channel specific commercial plans
  • Inspiring storyteller and strategic thinker
  • Cross-functional experience would be an advantage, preferably in a commercial function
  • Line management experience preferred, with capability to influence and do through others
