Job Description

Responsible for supporting various projects and initiatives for the life insurance business, including light graphic design work, project management, content writing, and event support activities. Internship Information: Our Internship program is designed to give students experience with projects and performing tasks within their hired work area. You will be exposed to other areas within the organization by participating in development, culture and volunteer events. This paid internship is 8-10 weeks in length with the possibility of extending hours into the school year. Our internship program holds an 80/10/10 approach, meaning that 80% of your work time will involve performing tasks or working on projects within your hired work area. Another 10% of the time, you will be exposed to learning in other areas within your assigned division to get more corporate experience. Then, the final 10% will be spent in shared experiences across the organization, where you will get to really learn about our culture and work environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Participate in marketing project management through proofreading and coordinating with compliance review
  • Assist in the updating, development, and execution of creative concepts, layouts, and visual design solutions for various projects
  • Help with sales event preparation, shipping, and organization and cataloging of marketing and promotional items
  • Learn and use the team filing system to help organize artwork, logos, photos, etc. Ensure file and versioning accuracy when saving and posting files. Follow guidelines for naming and storing files
  • Participate in team creative brainstorming activities
  • Review correspondence and provide recommended copy edits
  • Assist with print fulfillment system uploads and maintenance
  • Pull basic analytics reports
  • Capture photos for social content

Requirements

  • Working towards Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Advertising, English, or Journalism Preferred
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (i.e., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Knowledge of and experience with The Associated Press (AP) style writing a plus
  • Familiarity with automated marketing email platforms a plus
  • Strong creative and artistic skills
  • Knowledge and ability to understand and interpret organizational information, including highly technical terminology relating to product
  • Working knowledge of computer operating systems, including Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
