The Marketing Development Specialist will work on the project 'Promoting Employment for Youth and Women in the opt', funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). The project aims at enhancing youth and women’s access to inclusive, gender-sensitive, and sustainable job opportunities through promoting employability skills, self-employment, innovation, and green economy initiatives and linkages.
Job Responsibility:
Identify business and investment opportunities in selected agricultural and non-agricultural markets and select eligible private sector partners that are formally registered, medium- to large-scale, financially and technically capable, and willing to co-invest in business expansion initiatives
Conduct needs assessments for selected private sector partners based on identified market opportunities and business potential
Carry out participatory analyses of working conditions for women and people with disabilities within targeted businesses, identifying gaps related to workplace policies, facilities, accessibility, wages, working hours, social protection, employer perceptions, and gender- and disability-related biases
Develop practical recommendations and ensure that findings from workplace analyses inform business development and improvement plans
Coordinate and oversee the delivery of business support packages and manage co-investment and matching grant models, ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective use of resources
Support the preparation of calls for partnership and participate in the selection of private sector partners willing to implement new investment models under risk-sharing arrangements
Work closely with the Social Inclusion Advisor to ensure that all interventions promote inclusive workplaces and improved working conditions
Coordinate with project team members, partners, and stakeholders and contribute to progress reporting, documentation of results, lessons learned, and best practices
Collaborate with the project management and technical team to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to project beneficiaries and the development of feasible and sustainable business models
Cooperate with MA’AN’s Monitoring and Evaluation department to ensure proper implementation of project-related M&E activities through data collection and documentation
Support the preparation of progress and final narrative reports
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Industrial Engineering, or any other related fields (Master’s degree is a plus)
At least 7 years of directly related experience in economic empowerment and resilience, marketing, business planning, business consulting, and small business SMEs experience preferred
Proven experience in working with vulnerable households in the opt and broad knowledge of livelihood sources
Deep understanding and strong knowledge of economic empowerment principles & models and local market requirements and constraints
Deep Knowledge in Agri-business and Industrial sectors in the opt
Relevant experience in working with farmers, women, and youth in the field of business development
Highly organized, reliable attention to detail, and ability to work independently when needed
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, partners, and donors
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, prioritize workload, and multi-task
MS Office literacy (especially Word and Excel)
Fluency in both English & Arabic languages including both written and verbal communication skills
What we offer:
Indemnity Payment: Equivalent to one month’s salary for each complete year of service
Reimbursement for work related transportation expenses is according to MA’AN’s by- laws
Time flexibility is recognized by both parties with consideration that this position might need to do part of the work after 4:00pm
