The Market Risk Reporting Data Lead will be responsible for driving initiatives within the Market Risk Reporting function. This includes partnering with stakeholders to define and implement data quality standards, manage data lineage, create and drive remediation plans for data quality issues, manage Data plan initiatives and ensure compliance with the firm's BCBS 239 framework. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of market risk fundamentals, regulatory requirements, and data governance best practices.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the Market Risk Data Domain Governance for critical data elements, including data lineage and data concerns, in partnership with the Market Risk Enterprise Data Office and Market Risk Management
drive improvements in the Market Risk data program to ensure compliance with BCBS 239 requirements for key risk reports
participate in and support data governance, data services, and data quality initiatives, including the development and execution of data use cases to enhance the quality of information used for market risk analysis
demonstrate command over all data and analysis relevant to the project or work stream, with understanding of key drivers and levers
build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including senior management and regulatory bodies
implement and enhance key controls related to market risk data and maintain comprehensive process documentation
proactively deliver against own work plan, adhering to strong quality standards, with minimal supervision
multi-task productively and reliably, while managing conflicting priorities.
Requirements:
12+ years of relevant experience in Market Risk Reporting, Data Analytics, Finance, or Data Science, with a strong emphasis on data governance and regulatory compliance
ability to work autonomously or as part of a team coordinating multiple program and project deliverables simultaneously
demonstrable problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage effectively against deadlines
excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate, collaborate, and lead cross-functional initiatives
substantial experience in the financial services industry with a deep understanding of financial products, market risk across asset classes, and experience interacting with senior management
proven leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate, and integrate processes across teams.
Nice to have:
Knowledge of database platforms (S3 & Oracle preferred) and data transformation tools e.g. Alteryx
experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar visualization tools is preferred
advanced data analysis skills with proficiency a relevant programming language such as Python
a relevant financial qualification (completed or inflight) such as FRM or CFA would be an advantage.
