Job Description

The Market Lab Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the primary/family care practice laboratories under the direction of the Lab Director and/or Technical Consultant.

Job Responsibility

  • Organizes and directs the daily activities of the laboratory
  • Perform daily maintenance and quality control procedures and maintenance
  • Performs phlebotomy and routine laboratory tests
  • Operate diagnostic equipment to administer routine tests
  • Investigate and follow up on issues, problems and complaints as brought up by lab staff, management, and clinical staff
  • Complete monitoring, record keeping, and reporting for all waived testing
  • See that all laboratory procedures are followed, and testing is performed within compliance
  • Manage human resources: recruit, discipline, orient and train new staff members
  • Evaluate staff for performance under the direction of the lab director
  • Schedule and assign staff as needed
  • Inventory and stock supplies and reagents
  • Adhere to all standards of care, Code of Conduct, and HIPAA Compliance
  • Must be able to float to all locations as necessary
  • Assist with other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent education required. Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Lab Tech program preferred
  • Current Basic Life Support card from the American Heart Association, prior to hire date
  • 2+ years working experience in a clinical practice setting or laboratory required
  • 2+ years Supervisory experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, coordinate, prioritize, and facilitate many on-going tasks
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Professional appearance

Nice to have

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Lab Tech program preferred
