Job Description

Reporting to Market Demand Planning Manager, the Market Demand Planner is responsible for the Demand Planning process.

Job Responsibility

  • Co-creates the long-range plan and annual BP from channel perspective, aligning the channel vision based on relevant customer, shopper insights and local channel understanding
  • Contributes to the identification of long-term country big bets and translates marketing activity calendar into specific channel actions, having channel activity calendar as an output
  • Manages disciplined execution of channels’ calendar by ensuring alignment with sales calendars
  • Partners with all marketing teams to explore regional specific opportunities and plans and integrate in the annual channel activity calendar and DME master plan for the country
  • Owns risk assessment and designs contingency planning for related channel programs by ensuring zero business impact
  • Defines 360 look of success channel KBIS and responsibility for results delivery
  • Tracks performance of channel programs and proposes on going corrective actions if needed
  • Identifies opportunities in existing channel execution for reducing costs and wastage
  • Demand planning reporting, forecast accuracy root cause analysis, product aging tracking and control

  • VBA knowledge will be considered as an asset
  • Advanced English language skills

  • Develop demand plans (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function using the Demand Planning forecasting tool (Anaplan)
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results
  • Understanding of and ability to incorporate sales, marketing and syndicated data into the forecasting model (this includes seasonality, competitive activity, trends, ad plans, category role, sales objectives and sales drivers)
  • Work with sales team to ensure Trade Promotion Management plans are properly aligned in the Demand Plan
  • Reconcile significant forecast variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions
  • Monitor abnormal demand and take corrective action to prevent reoccurrence, maximize customer service and minimize distressed inventory
  • Collaborate with senior management in Sales, Marketing, and Operations, present forecasts during daily/weekly/monthly S&OP process, and support strategic decision-making
