We’re currently looking to hire a Market Data Optimisation – Pricing and Reference Data Lead to join L&G Asset Management Data Operations Team on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. You’ll be responsible for managing all aspects of licensing and commercial relationships with vendors of security pricing data across the firm in a BAU capacity. This role ensures that the organisation’s use of security pricing data is compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with business strategy. You’ll partner with Investments, Product, Legal, and Procurement teams to negotiate contracts, rationalise vendor spend, and support new product launches, business initiatives and regulatory obligations (e.g., EU & UK BMR).
Job Responsibility:
Leading end-to-end negotiation and renewal of vendor licenses relating to all the firm’s security pricing data
Assessing commercial models, usage rights, and redistribution implications for internal and external use cases
Ensuring that the business align to the LGIM Pricing & Reference Data strategy and ensure existing contracts are fully leveraged
Supporting new product development and new business initiatives by gathering all Pricing data requirements and leading vendor analysis and selection
Ensure compliance with appropriate regulations and internal data governance frameworks
Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Procurement to align contractual terms with organisational policies and regulatory expectations and maintain centralised records of all Security Pricing data licenses, usage rights, and renewal schedules
Act as primary liaison between the firm and major vendors of Pricing data (e.g. Bloomberg, ICE)
Analyse vendor spend for security pricing, identify duplication, and propose rationalisation or enterprise models to optimise total cost of ownership and Support budgeting and forecasting for security pricing data, integrating financial tracking into enterprise cost-management frameworks
Requirements:
Proven experience in market data or vendor management within asset management or investment banking
Proven ability to negotiate complex data contracts and manage high-value vendor relationships
Familiarity with EU/UK market data regulations and data-usage compliance frameworks
Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills with the ability to influence at senior levels
Strong analytical and financial-modelling capability (Excel, Power BI, or equivalent)
Experience with market-data inventory and rights-management tools (e.g., FITS, MDM, TRG, or EDM Council models)
Degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
professional qualifications (FIA, CFA, or CMI) advantageous
