The position is responsible for all operations related to drug pricing and insurance reimbursement for the company's products, aiming to maximize product value and patient access. This involves leading price negotiations , collaborating with internal teams including global headquarters to set pricing strategies , handling post-launch price revisions , and ensuring all reimbursement requirements are met for timely product launches. The role also includes representing the company and contributing to industry association activities to help shape the rules and regulations governing the pharmaceutical market.
Job Responsibility
Lead drug price negotiations to obtain appropriate pricing that reflects product value, including setting target prices and developing negotiation strategies in collaboration with global and local teams
Manage all matters necessary for the insurance reimbursement of products, identifying requirements for assets in development and coordinating with relevant departments to ensure a timely launch
Forecast the impact of and manage post-launch drug price revisions, and handle administrative procedures related to product supply and delisting
Contribute to industry association activities as a company representative, such as serving as a committee member for organizations like JPMA or EFPIA, to help improve pricing and reimbursement rules
Proactively monitor the external environment, including the healthcare system and relevant laws, to predict the impact on the company and provide strategic feedback to minimize risks
Requirements
Experience in drug pricing and reimbursement-related services is desirable, including experience with price negotiations or responding to related inquiries
Knowledge of the Japanese medical insurance system, drug price calculation standards, medical service fee system, and related laws, as well as the health technology assessment (HTA) system
Knowledge of the drug pricing and reimbursement systems in Europe and the United States
Strong logical thinking, communication, and negotiation skills to build win-win relationships with internal and external stakeholders
A university degree or higher and the ability to conduct business in English on a daily basis
